Solar's environmental policy
Solar’s environmental policy is based on the company’s values, respect, positivity and professionalism, and covers all of its operations.
Sólar has dedicated itself to being a leader in the field of environmental issues, by having a positive impact on the environment and society in decision-making and daily activities. Solar always seeks to keep negative environmental impacts to a minimum, e.g. with the Swan’s environmental certification.

Policy objectives
- Sólar will effectively manage the environmental aspects of its operations based on environmental protection and social responsibility.
- Sólar will fulfill all legal requirements related to environmental issues.
- Sólar will enhance the environmental awareness of staff through regular training.
- Sólar will make this policy available to all employees, contractors and suppliers, introduce it to new employees and revise it when necessary.
- Sólar will strive for continuous improvements in environmental matters based on the results of measurements and monitoring. Inaddition, Solar will conduct regular inspections and audits of the company’s environmental management system.
- Sólar will regularly set new environmental goals based on the company’s values and environmental policy.
Solar sees itself as a responsible participant in the circular economy and has respect for the environment. Therefore, Sólar declares that all employees as well as contractors must respect the company's environmental policy in all their work.
This policy takes effect from September 2024.
Sólar's policy on prevention of bullying, harassment and distress in the workplace
Statement and definitions
Sólar ehf declares that all employees have the right to be treated with respect and care. Bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and/or violence have not passed.

The main objective
The objective of the policy and response programme against bullying, sexual and gender-based harassment and violence is to prevent such harassment in the workplace and to ensure that remedies are available should a person feel that he or she has been exposed to such behaviour. The definitions of terms in this policy and the response plan are based on the current Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulation on Action against Bullying, Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Harassment and Workplace Violence No. 1009/2015.
Rights and Obligations
An employee who has experienced or has knowledge of bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and/or violence in the workplace should inform the supervisor, security guard or human resources manager about it.
All parties have an obligation to act as soon as possible in the event of reports of harassment, harassment or other inappropriate behaviour by staff in the workplace. Any cases received of bullying, harassment or other inappropriate behaviour are investigated and it is the responsibility of management to ensure it. The utmost confidentiality is guaranteed in the handling of cases and data in order to protect the interests of all concerned.
Employees should have the values of Sólar ehf — respect, positivity and professionalism — as a guide in their daily work and show moral responsibility in their dealings with colleagues.
Employees are not allowed to bully, harass or use violence against colleagues.
All staff should be involved in creating a positive work environment that promotes well-being in the workplace and is free from bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and/or violence.
New staff should be introduced to the company's policy and response plan to prevent bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and violence immediately upon commencement of employment. The policy and response plan are regularly reviewed at staff meetings. Bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment and violence are not tolerated by the company. If a superior becomes aware of bullying, harassment or violence, he or she shall act in accordance with a response plan.
The company will take action against staff who harass, harass or abuse others, e.g. by reprimand or dismissal. If the perpetrator remains on the job, he will be held accountable and supported to abandon his behavior. The sufferer's need for support is assessed and support provided as needed.
If the assessment of the situation leads to the non-occurrence or non-occurrence of bullying, harassment or violence in the workplace, action shall nevertheless be taken in order to eradicate the situation complained of or identified, if the situation still exists, as well as in order to prevent for the situation to come up again.

Solar ehf Equality Plan 2023 — 2026

Sólar ehf employs a diverse group of staff, of different nationalities and backgrounds. The Equality Programme is set out in accordance with the Law on Equal Rights and Equal Status of the Sexes No.150/2020, and other laws and requirements are directed towards equality.
The purpose of the programme is to ensure the equal status and equal rights of the sexes andthose with neutral registration in the National Register, who work within the company regardless of the type of work they perform. Sólar ehf is committed to being a workplace in which all employees are evaluated on their own criteria, regardless of gender, nationality, age, religious opinion or other such.
Sólar ehf will present the program to all employees, as it is important that managers and staff are aware of the importance of equality in all work processes and projects within the company.

Aim
Solar emphasizes the equal right of gender to salaries, positions, jobs and participation in committees and functions among all professions of Sólar. Furthermore, the employees of the company shall enjoy the same opportunities, rights and working conditions regardless of race, nationality, religion or other factors. Solar received equal pay certification in 2020 and has maintained it since under Article 7 of Act No. 150/2020. Every year a maintenance certification will be carried out and every third year a recertification will be carried out.
The following are the goals of the Sun
- Staff shall enjoy equal pay and remuneration for work of equal value, irrespective of gender.
- A vacancy for application shall be open to all, regardless of gender.
- It is emphasized that vocational training and retraining are available to all staff, regardless of gender.
- It is emphasized that staff can coordinate working hours and family life as much as possible.
- Staff should be facilitated to return to work after maternity and parental leave or leave from work due to urgent family circumstances.

Code of Ethics of the Sun
Sólar's Code of Ethics contains general standards of good and responsible practice for all those who work for the company, act on its behalf or on its behalf.
